down to the valley

After morning mass and an early nap for the girls, we decided to pack up and head to Noggins Farm in Wolfville. The weather was gorgeous, Ben was off and we thought it was a perfect time to explore the farm and get some fresh air. Having never been there before, I was totally surprised at the amount of people coming and going out of the parking lot, and even more surprised by the amount of families present. Lucy didn’t know where to start because there was just so much to see and do.

She opted to climb the huge tower of tires first. Don’t worry, Ben was not far behind her. She kept climbing higher and higher and when she finally stopped to look down she was nearly at the top. She wasn’t scared at all though and wanted to just stand on the top and look around.

This little pumpkin started getting a runny nose earlier in the day and all that fresh air just seemed to keep the snot a flowing.

Checking out the rope maze.

I think I may start calling Abigail my little kangaroo. That girl is so snuggly!

We had lots of fun feeding the cows and watching the chickens in the coup. We had to watch Lucy like a hawk because she kept wanting to stick her fingers through the mesh and I didn’t want one of them to peck her little fingers!

The corn maze was fun, but made me feel slightly claustrophobic. I couldn’t wait to get out of there.

She was very happy to choose her very own little pumpkin. We also picked up some fresh corn on the cob and strawberries. We had the corn for supper when we came home and it was amazing. Hands down the best corn I have ever eaten.
It was a great little day trip and it may become an annual thing. The look on Ben’s face was sheer bliss the entire time we were there. I know he would have moved us all in had the owners let him and to be honest I don’t think I would have stopped him. The idea of wide open space, fresh air and delicious local produce is quickly growing on this city girl.
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend as much as we did! -xo-
